A meeting, hosted by Silifke Sub-provincial Directorate of Agriculture, was held with the attendance of the Chairpersons of Cooperatives established in the villages of Silifke.
 Chairpersons were informed of the project mechanism and of what it would earn the village youth.
In their turn, the chairpersons said; “There are many young people engaged in agricultural activities in the villages, but we are not able to provide them with the support on the issues of agricultural development methods, technical information, and innovations abroad”.
“With this meeting” they added “the first step has been taken toward the solution of the problems in rural areas, which provided relief to us”.
The meeting, held with the chairpersons of seven cooperatives, has been useful for both of the parties. The methods on the project’s rural applicability were also laid before the meeting. The chairpersons reached a consensus that the project will contribute to the development of the rural youth engaged in farming.
Additionally, under the protocol signed by the parties, it has been resolved that young farmers groups, consisted of 5 young people, be formed within the body of each cooperative and be included in the project network.
