In the visit to the sub-province of Gulnar on 07 May 2009, “Seyh Omer” village was the first stop where the project on Rural Youth Chain was presented with the aims and methods of establishing organizations in rural areas. At the end of the meeting held in Seyh Omer village, a group consisting of diligent and active young people was formed under the title of “Youth Group of Seyh Omer Village” with Zekeriya Kisa being the leader and Erkan Karacan, Ahmet Sumbul, Sadik Sanar as members. After exchanging the contact addresses a separate meeting was held with the group members. In this meeting the group was given a detailed information on the project and the works expected from this group were explained in detail.

            On the same day Gulnar Vocational High School was visited, a meeting was held with the Gulnar Youth Group (Elife Ciftci, Fatih Sak, Derya Kapanoglu, Ulas Yilmaz, Emine Akdag, Ibrahim Halil Celik), an assessment was made on the 1st International Youth Chain Seminar and information was given to the young people on association establishment and youth bylaws. At the end of the meeting, studies on association establishment were given start and tasks were distributed among the young people to enable systematic and fast way of reaching the target. Following the meeting in the University, another meeting was held with the cooperatives in Gulnar. This meeting was attended by Cemil Durmaz, the representative of MENKOBIRLIK, Mehmet Ali Sahin, representative of Agricultural Development Cooperative of Bekirler Village, Osman Bucaktepe, Chairman of Kuskan Cooperative, and Mustafa Eken, Chairman of Cooperatives’ Union. In the meeting a resolution was decided on establishing young farmers groups within the body of the cooperatives in Gulnar and organization be given start.
